Love as Destructive or Redemptive
“Edgar and Lucy” is a love story dedicated to the many sides of love and details how this strong force can both destroy and redeem people who experience it in any form. The driving force behind Victor Lodato’s novel is love. Frank’s death impacts the Fini family so much that the entire family’s course alters and each family member is disturbed by the memory of Frank. Florence, Pio, Lucy, and Edgar all love Frank in their own ways. These feelings of love for Frank, a suicide victim, manifest in the lives of each character.
