Chapter 10 Summary

Daniel irritably coaches Alisa on the correct pronunciation of the nal nithrac spell. It is past midnight and Alisa has school tomorrow, yet she apologizes to Daniel, reminding him that this is new to her. When he starts to protest that perhaps the spell is too difficult, Alisa reminds Hunter and Daniel that the dark wave is not affecting her nearly as much as it affects them, and looking defeated, Daniel resumes his lesson. Alisa continues saying the spell and practicing the sigils, finally finishing the second part of the spell ten minutes later to Hunter and Daniel's satisfaction. Hunter comments on Alisa's power, and she notes it seems to be getting stronger, asking if it is unusual for a half witch to have power. Daniel notes that witches rarely conceive with pure humans, and when they do, their offspring is nearly always...
