Chapter 4 Summary
Alisa feels guilty for stealing from Morgan as she stares at the green book on her bed. Though she cannot explain it, she feels like the book belongs to her, and she is shocked when she opens the book and sees her mother's maiden name, Sarah Curtis. Thinking that this is why she is so drawn to the book, Alisa reads that Sarah kept this diary from age 15, 1968-1971. Alisa is instantly mesmerized by the book as she finds that this Sarah Curtis has many similarities to her mother, such as where she is from and her relationship with her parents; however, her certainty that this book did not belong to her mother since her mother could not be a witch is reaffirmed when she finds a mention of Sarah's brother, Sam, since she knows her mother was an only child.
