Section 7: Chapter 11 & 12 Summary

In Chapter 11, Jacqueline and Erin begin practicing the moves taught by Ralph, Don and Lucas. Jacqueline is uncomfortable with the ground defense techniques, as they remind her of Buck's attack, but she gets through the exercise once, though she does not believe it will work against someone Buck's size. That afternoon, Lucas invites Jacqueline to his apartment to see the charcoal, and he picks her up on his motorcycle. At his apartment, Lucas admits that he wants to show Jacqueline exactly how to use the ground defense technique from class so that she will feel more confident, and after he walks her through the lesson again, showing her how to throw him off, he admits that though he still wants to show her the charcoal, he has another motive for inviting her over as well.
