Section 3: Chapter 3 & 4 Summary

Chapter 3 begins with Jacqueline contacting her tutor who responds surprisingly quickly. Irritated by his condescending tone, Jacqueline insists she can catch up on the normal classwork on her own, but as their emails become more personal and even a bit flirtatious, Jacqueline begins comparing Landon to Kennedy which makes her realize that she needs to break her habit of thinking of Kennedy in terms of her present and future since he belongs only to her past. After Kennedy breaks up with Jacqueline, she begins to realize that she also loses many of her friends since she no longer has ties to the campus's Greek society as she does not belong to a sorority. Many of her former friends ignore her, but Erin sticks by her no matter what, which causes Jacqueline to recall how upset she was when she first found...
