New York City

New York City is where Chloé lives with her husband Andrew and son Wolfgang. Not long after Wolfgang's birth, the couple relocates from the Midwest to this Northeastern metropolis. Because the new family has little money, they work hard to support their lives here. After Chloé receives a salaried position at her university, however, life in New York becomes slightly more tenable. Although this is indeed the city Chloé calls home, she is infrequently here throughout the memoir.

Milan

Milan is the city in Italy where Chloé is meant to travel at the beginning of the memoir. This is indeed the location where the Beyoncé concert is being held.
