Summary

Tony acclimates well to working with Herman. One day, Tony is called for by Herman, who has been weeping while treating a man named Thomas Greene who has throat cancer. Tony realizes Herman is in love with Greene, who dies within the week. Later that week, Ganter comes to be treated and Tony swallows his hatred in order to help him. He also hears from his friends that they are planning a protest against their masters.

When one of Herman’s patients dies, Tony comes across a man in a bar named Joe Miller begins insisting Tony and Herman failed to save him. Miller encourages his friends to savagely beat Tony. Cuffee and Flynn eventually come to Tony’s rescue.
