Summary

Prologue – Lukas converses with an unknown man by radio, saying that the Mayor is currently away working on something Lukas knows the unknown man would not be pleased about. Lukas thinks nothing good will come of what the Mayor is up to, and hopes the unknown man will keep his fingers crossed for them.

Part 1, The Dig

Chapter 1 – In Silo 18, Juliette Nicholls uses an excavator to tear into the wall. She knows miners are watching, many of whom have lost loved ones because of actions she has taken. At last she breaks through to the other side of the silo wall, pointed out by Raph. Juliette is desperate to reach an abandoned silo where friends are trapped. Juliette calls for a cutting torch and a flashlight.
