Summary

The chapter opens with Dunbar, Peter, and Mrs. Harrod in a pub called the King’s Head, celebrating their escape from the sanatorium with pints of beer they buy with Mrs. Harrod’s savings. Peter, who is clearly an alcoholic when he can afford it, just wants to get drunk and give impulsive performances to strangers, keeps stealing Peter and Mrs. Harrod’s drinks.
