Dolly Parton
Willowdean and her best friend, Ellen, bonded as children over Dolly Parton’s music. The two frequently blare her music as they drive around town or relax at one of their homes. Willowdean’s love for Dolly was passed along from her aunt Lucy, just as Ellen's love of Dolly was inspired by her mother. Even now, months after her death, Willowdean goes into Lucy’s room to listen to her extensive Dolly Parton record collection and to go through her Dolly collectibles. Lucy was the head of a regional Dolly Parton fan club for many year, except the last few that she was alive. The club is how she became best friends with Ellen’s mother, Mrs. Dryver. The two even tried to go to Dollywood together when Mrs. Dryver won a paid vacation, including plane tickets.
