Summary
Two months pass as Will and Bo continue on with their kissing sessions in secret. Will does not even tell Ellen about her fling and as it continues, she finds it harder and harder to bring it up. She realizes how futile it is, but when Bo touches her stomach, she sucks her stomach in. She knows that “...it never makes any difference in pictures and I doubt it does now,” but being with Bo has made her even more aware of her large size and the insecurities that she is usually so good at overcoming (74). Bo gives Willowdean a pair of heart glasses from the dollar store, and although they are just meant to be a nice gift without much meaning, Will finds them “transformative” (77). She does not recognize the person in the mirror but likes what she sees.
