Missing Right Arm

Edgar’s missing right arm is a symbol of the supernatural. When Edgar is in the process of painting a particularly good piece of artwork, he suffers phantom pain and itching in his right arm. On the night that he paints the portrait of Wireman as a younger man, Edgar believes he can see the arm and feel it. When he is finished with that painting, Edgar breaks one of his brushes in half an action that requires two hands to complete.
