Summary
In Chapter 18: “Noveen,” inside the house, Edgar shared his fear that there were no more drawings because the house was in such bad shape. Jack, however, found a handwritten note in an old rolltop desk. It appeared to be a receipt for liquor and noted there was “Table X2” (667) in the delivery. Wiremen noted out loud Elizabeth’s frequent statements that the table was leaking. Wireman suggested something was looking out for them because it had allowed them to find that piece of paper when none others seemed to exist.
