Summary

In Chapter 8: “Family Portrait,” Edgar received a call from Pam. She reported that Tom called her a “meddlesome cunt” (245) when she confronted him about suicide. Edgar wondered if he should call Tom as well, but Pam thought it would be detrimental if Tom thought they had been talking about him.

When Edgar visited Wireman and Elizabeth that afternoon, Wireman told Edgar Elizabeth was having one of the worst days he had ever experienced.
