Summary

In Chapter 3, Edgar started each day by walking on the beach. On his first day he was able to walk only 38 steps and back. He walked a little further each day until one day he recognized the two specks he had been seeing on the beach were two other people. He suspected they lived in the huge house with the orange tiled roof that sat just before the overgrown portion of the island. One day Edgar asked Jack why Duma Key was so isolated.
