Chapter 3, Nothing to be Proud Of Summary and Analysis
Augusten Burroughs arrives at the airport in Minnesota. A woman from the Proud Institute is supposed to meet him. Augusten waits, but when he doesn't find her he decides to take a cab to rehab. He's hoping for a glitzy rehab with relaxing spa treatments. However, he is disappointed to see it is in an industrial-type building. Peggy, a counselor, leads him to Sue, an intake counselor, who takes his information. She is surprised Augusten found his own way to the center, but Augusten said he didn't know he was supposed to wait for someone because he doesn't want to get that person in trouble.
