Chapter 2, Those Fucking Eggs Summary and Analysis
Augusten Burroughs manages to wake up early and tries to hide that he's hungover. When he gets to the museum, his partner at the ad agency, Greer, tells him he smells like alcohol. Resigned, she tells him she will cover for him again, implying she has done this several times. Augusten is relieved he has been caught, since he doesn't have to hide it from her anymore. When they go to lunch, Greer tells him to order an alcoholic drink in case no one has yet noticed he smells like alcohol. That night, he's so relieved to be away from people when he comes home that he has a drink immediately. He tells himself it will just be one drink but finishes the bottle.
