Chapters 37-42 Summary
Myron calls the police and moves Janet Koffman to her hotel room down the hall. Dimonte and Krinsky arrive, and Rolly questions Myron about why he is at the hotel so early in the morning, and wonders if Myron might have committed the crime in order to take the investigators away from Roger Quincy. Myron takes Rolly down the hall to Janet's room, and the detective is quickly angry. Both men agree that they would happily thank the person that had killed Pavel if they did not kill Valerie Simpson as well.
Myron walks back to the office and thinks things through. The murder of Pavel Menansi is a mystery. The murderer used the same method as the murderer of Valerie Simpson, firing through a Feron's bag. Myron wonders if there is one killer, or if someone used the same method...
