Astrology symbolizes the human need to form a sense of order out of life’s inherent chaos. Janina is a devout believer in astrology, and she uses it as a source of comfort and clarity. Despite the fact that astrology is arbitrary and has no real connection to reality, Janina’s belief in it gives her a sense of certainty in her life.

From Janina’s perspective, hunting symbolizes a profound disrespect for the sanctity of life. Janina believes that animal life is just as sacred as human life, and thus she views hunters as murderers.
