Summary
Chapter 6, “In Which All Hell Breaks Loose,” opens with an excerpt from Jane's letter in which she believes Ophelia would be impressed with her marksmanship and wonders if it is because of her mother's lessons. Jane rushes toward the stage where she shoots Othello in the head. She notes that Professor Ghering is not breathing and takes time to call him a fool before shooting him in the head. The three shamblers in the cage are invigorated by the taste of Othello's blood and the smell of death, and they break from their cage. Jane shoots two quickly but realizes that she wasted one of her bullets firing into the air to get the crowd's attention. An Attendant shoots the remaining shambler, but fails to stop her and almost reaches a wealthy woman passed out in the aisle. Jane fights her...
