Book 3, Chapter 13, Kitiara, Chapter 14, The End for Good or for Evil and The Homecoming Summary

The beginning of Chapter 13 Tanis is still trying to find Laurana. He finally finds her and declares his love. Just as he is speaking, Kitiara shows up. She tells Tanis that she has taken over in the Dark Queen's place and that he is welcome to join her in her reign. He tells her that his heart belongs to Laurana.

Lord Soth comes to Kit, but before he gets near them, Tanis tells Kit that he will die protecting Laurana and will pray to the god Paladine to give her protection with his dying breath. Kitiara lets them go, telling Tanis that it is only because she loves him.
