Book 1, Chapter 2, Pursuit Summary

Chapter Two opens with the friends, Tanis, Caramon, Raistlin , Tika, Goldmoon and Riverwind, all in the twins room in the inn. They are planning their boat trip away from Flotsam. Tanis insists that they must leave today, though the other friends are worried about the raging storm outside.

They board the Perechon, but Maquesta refuses to leave the harbor because she is afraid the storm will damage her boat. Tanis takes Maquesta aside and informs her that the draconian army is looking for her helmsman, Berem.

At first she does not believe him because she believes that Berem is a half-witted mute, but Tanis persists and she resolves to throw Berem off her ship to keep herself out of trouble.
