Book 2: Chapter 6-10 Summary
In book two chapter six, Laurana leads the companions to a place to rest. Tanis walks into the woods and Laurana follows him. Tas decides to sneak off and find out what is going on between Tanis and Laurana. In the wooded clearing, Laurana professes her continued love for Tanis. Tanis pushes her away and explains that he is in love with a human woman and that his heart is as divided as his blood is. Laurana is tearful and points out that Tanis is still wearing the ring that she gave him many years ago. Tanis gives the ring back to Laurana and she throws it into the woods as she leaves crying. Tas picks up the ring and quickly makes his way back to the clearing.
