Book 1: Chapter 17-22 Summary

In book one chapter seventeen, the companions awake and get ready to head to the dragon's lair. The companions are traveling down staircases deep within the city when they suddenly come upon a band of gully dwarfs. Tanis and the others decide that the gully dwarfs are being used as slave labor and could probably help them find the dragons lair. They find a small group traveling down a corridor and Raistlin casts a spell of friendship over them. The gully dwarfs show the companions what it is they do for the draconians. There is a large chain that goes from the bottom of Xak Tsaroth to the top. The gully dwarfs get in one basket and it goes down and brings up a basket full of draconians as the chain moves.
