Part 6, Chapter 49 Summary

Claire, Roger, and Brianna set off in the night to the standing stones. Claire reads Geillis's notebook and it tells of the Feast of Beltane. It was the eve of this feast. Claire is certain Geillis is there. Roger blacks out from the flames of the fire and the smell of burning flesh. Brianna runs to him and wakes him. She is crying for fear of almost losing him to the fire. He was able to see Geillis go back before he passed out from the flames.

Geillis had sacrificed her husband in a ritual and went back in time through the standing stones. Roger was able to see everything. Claire is in shock. The police come and remove Mr. Edgar's body. Brianna comes to the realization that it's all true, the whole story.

Roger reads one final thing to Claire...
