Part 6, Chapter 42 Summary

Jamie finds out that his men have been kept in Tolbooth and rides to Holyrood to conform Lord Lovat about it. Lord Lovat is not there, but has ridden to Stirling. Young Simon and Cameron are there to meet Jamie's intrusion. Cameron tells Jamie he tried to stop it from happening. The men are charged with desertion. They were found ten miles from the battle. Lord Lovat is mad and rides to Stirling to find out what happened. Jamie is not far behind him and Simon goes with him. Claire stays in Edenburgh to tend to the men held prisoner.

Before the men go to Stirling, Claire tells Jamie that Geillis Duncan was pregnant with Dougal MacKenzie's baby before she was burned at the stake for witchcraft. She had also stolen ten thousand pounds. Either Geillis gave the money to Dougal...
