Part 5, Chapter 34 Summary

A big storm comes and wipes out the barley fields, but a new field of potatoes had been planted and it weathers the storm. Jenny gives birth to another girl, Katherine Mary. Every time the mail comes it's excitement all around. This day, there is a lot of mail. The surprise is Jamie's mail. The letter comes from his Uncle Jared. Charles Stuart is set to claim the throne of three kingdoms (Scotland, England and Ireland). Jared had signed Jamie's name at the bottom as a Scottish Chieftain. Jamie is outraged and screams in horror. Jared says that since the letter couldn't make it to Jamie in time to sign it, he had signed for Jamie and thanks him for his loyalty.
