Part 4, Chapter 24 Summary

Charles comes to visit the next day but Jamie is not home. Charles tells Claire of his need of a favor from Jamie. He needs him to dispose of some cargo that is soon to arrive. Claire informs Jamie upon his return home. Moments later a letter arrives for Jamie informing him that the foreman of the warehouse is in trouble at a brothel house and he needs to go pay the bill at once. He leaves and tells Claire he will be home by supper.

Claire's bleeding had subsided a lot since she quit working and is able to rest a lot. She sleeps while Jamie is gone and is awakened by the announcement of more visitors: Princesse de Rohan and Madame d'Arbanville.
