Part 2, Chapter 10 Summary

Claire wakes from her fainting spell to find it is not Jonathan Randall she sees, but Alexander Randall (Jonathan's brother). The king's men pick Claire up and Jamie takes her home to rest before the next ball, which is the following night.

Jamie confesses that if Claire had not fainted he would have killed Alexander Randall, thinking he was Jonathan. They both clear their minds and sleep. Jamie goes right to sleep, but it takes Claire a while. She dreams of Frank and calls his name out loud in her sleep. Jamie wakes her and they lie holding each other. Jamie says she can never leave him. They are bound as one. Claire feels the same way and tells him so.
