Part 2, Chapter 7 Summary

Jamie and Claire arrive at Jared's house in Paris. They are barred from Scotland and need to find a place to live. It is either America or Europe. They feel very lucky to have been offered the house and the job from Jared. It was an answer to a prayer. Murtagh (one of Jamie's closest friends) comes along with them. Claire meets the staff of sixteen servants and finds out they are paid very little for their services. One of the servants explains to Claire that although Monsieur le Comte is a competitor of Monsieur Jared, he gets invited for dinner occasionally so that Jared can brag about his fine wines. Jared even sends a bottle home with Comte for good measure.
