Lessa

Lessa's hair flows to her waist. She has prominent cheekbones and a dainty form. She has a special ability that allows her to communicate with all the dragons within the Weyr—a talent only held by one other before her. She hides this ability for years, but when it comes time to fight the Threads, she is able to coordinate the battle through communicating with the dragons who then communicate with their riders.

This powerful young woman is generally quiet and self-reflective. She tends to try to figure things out for herself, rather than ask for help. She relies heavily on instinct to make decisions. F'lar considers her a free spirit too independent for her own good. However, her fresh input offers the balance he needs, as she becomes a much-needed source of inspiration to the Weyrleader.
