F'lar speaks with his men, and R'gul challenges his authority. F'lar's character's leadership comes into focus as F'lar puts him in his place diplomatically by questioning what he holds true. K'net breaks into the conversation and corners R'gul on his belief about the Eye Rock. Why didn't he admit that it was placed on the Star Stone to bracket the Red Star when it is about to make a Pass? R'gul is infuriated by the upstart's insolence. F'lar puts the young man in his place, too. F'lar leads with integrity. He doesn't tell R'gul what to do but asks questions that place R'gul in a position to accept F'lar's leadership and still save face. He agrees to accept F'lar's policies as Weyrleader.
