The MAIT team is running out of time, and they really do not even know it. Back in the U.S., Raymond Jordan and Donald Kern watch a clock that tells them they only have forty-five minutes to get word from their team that they have been successful, or there will be a nuclear strike on the island. The MAIT team effectively places the explosive device and heads up the elevator, where they hope Pitt and Giordino are waiting for them.
