The congressional subcommittee, on which both Congresswoman Loren Smith of Colorado and U.S. Senator Mike Diaz of New Mexico serve, is looking to have the Japanese companies that operate on American soil pay taxes and be subject to the same regulatory practices all other companies experience. Tsuboi is very angry at what he perceives as a preparation to place a serious hold on the ability of Japanese businesses to operate in the U.S. All Smith and Diaz wish to do is to fight against what they perceive to be unfair trade and investment practices of the Japanese. Tsuboi wishes to convert the American currency to the Japanese Yen, to take ownership of Hawaii and share ownership of California.
