Part II, The Kaiten Menace: Chapters 21 - 23 Summary

Immediately upon disembarking from the Gulfstream, Pitt, Giordino, Admiral Sandecker, and Stacy Fox were picked up and taken immediately from Andrews Air Force base to a broken-down building that is actually the Federal Headquarters Building. Once inside, they are taken to an elevator that takes them down to a subterranean, soundproofed room. Pitt and Giordino still do not know what is going on, why they are there, or what caused the blast. Sandecker has done his job and kept them completely in the dark. Stacy seems to have a better idea, and Pitt's suspicions about her as a covert operative have increased dramatically. Inside that room, they meet several men. One of the men is Frank Mancuso, who approaches Pitt and tells him they will be working together. They discuss MAIT...
