Summary

In Chapter 34, Min flies higher then dives directly toward Captain Hwan. He fires before she reaches him and strikes her shoulder, but she holds onto the Pearl. She becomes human again and the Pearl seems to help her pain. One of the ghosts approaches. She notes there are “Four supernatural creatures” on the planet now, then identifies herself as Eui. The ghosts join forces to recreate a scene in the air. Min can tell the starship in the scene is old, and she recognizes Hae, “the greatest shaman of her day” (282) who was supposed to travel to Jinju to work on the terraforming there. In the scene the ghosts create, Min sees ghosts surrounding Hae. Eui says Hae was concerned only with glory for herself, the Dragon Society, and the Thousands Worlds.
