Summary

Chapter 2 is titled “Ivan and Paris.” The opening page show images of the two players. Both are Black. Ivan is much taller and has braces. Paris has a tattoo on his right arm that is later revealed to be the Lord's Prayer. Gene often spends sleepless hours thinking about his writing career. In the opening of this chapter, he wonders if he is really going to devote years to a comic about basketball. He remembers Lou's comment about knowing the past.
