Daniel and Pam’s New York apartment

When Dan first moves to New York, he lives in a loft apartment on Chrystie Street in downtown Manhattan, situated above a general store called Video Hit. Because it is accessed through a store, the apartment can only be accessed when the store is open. When Daniel and Pam become pregnant with Flora, they move in together at this apartment. The rent of the apartment goes through various changes in reaction to the economic context in which the characters live. Throughout their time living in New York, they encounter inflation and soaring rent prices, but because of their good relationship to the owners of the property and their long-time commitment to the building, the owners offer them many breaks in inflating rent prices.
