Summary
At the beginning of Chapter 19, Flora is working the information table at a climate change conference when she meets an older Republican man named Bull Gooch who buys her a drink while discussing the political failures of the Green Party. Their conversation is hostile because of their opposite political views, but Bull invites Flora to dinner at his house. She researches him, discovering that he is a top democratic strategist, before joining him for dinner at his house where conversation flowed comfortably between them and they begin a sweet romance.
Their relationship grows slowly, and Bull withholds the fact that he is infertile from Flora, who admits to wanting children. Bull admits his love for Flora to a female friend Jennifer.
