Chapters 26-27 Summary

Thomas Curl has named the dog head attached to his arm Lucas. Curl has begun to lose his mind and believes the dog is a pet. Catherine goes along with this by faking barks to make Curl believe the dog is responding to his conversation. In Harney, Skink teaches Garcia how to fish and then announces that he has enrolled Garcia and Tile in the Dickie Lockhart Memorial Bass Tournament as brothers. Skink and Lanie go for a ride to look for road kill. Lanie seduces Skink in the backseat of her car. Skink then goes into town and collects supplies for the fishing tournament, including an old outboard engine for his small boat. Skink has also prepared Queenie to travel with them to Lunker Lakes.
