Chapters 12-13 Summary
Dickie becomes drunk his first night in New Orleans. Fueled by the alcohol, Dickie decides to go to Weeb's hotel room in the middle of the night. Dickie finds Weeb in the company of two near-naked women. Further encouraged by this compromising position, Dickie blackmails Weeb for a better contract. Dickie has heard that Weeb has approached his rival, Eddie Spurling, to take his place on Fish Fever. Dickie wants a promise that Weeb will keep Dickie on the show for five years and increase his budget per episode by five hundred dollars. Weeb reluctantly agrees. Dickie also requests the company of one of the women who is with Weeb, with whom Dickie has felt an instant connection.
Skink and Decker settle in a motel near the lake where the fishing tournament is to take place the following day. Skink sleeps...
