Chapters 6-7 Summary
Lanie Gault is waiting for Decker when he returns to his motel. Lanie tells Decker that he photographed her for an ad once. Then Lanie goes on to talk about how Bobby Clinch was going to leave his wife for her, how he was different from the other fishermen she had met. Lanie then tells Decker that Bobby was working for her brother, Dennis, investigating Dickie when he died. Lanie also thinks that Dickie killed Bobby and warns Decker that he might be in danger as well. Decker has to return to Miami the next day. As he packs, he considers dropping the case, but now he is curious to find out what kind of man would kill over a fish.
