Chapters 18-19 Summary

Everyone at the office learns of Lauren's relationship with Nick, making Lauren something of a celebrity around the water cooler. Nick then announces that he has told the press they are getting married, so she should be prepared for calls asking for interviews. Nick then rushes off to Italy, leaving Lauren without a chance to tell him about Philip again. At the same time, the investigation into Lauren has revealed the fact that she lives in a condo Philip Whitworth uses to house his mistresses, making it appears as though she is his mistress. The head of security instructs his investigator to inform Global Industries' lawyer of this immediately. Lauren is also placed under surveillance and her phone line monitored.
