Summary
On the way home, Nikki finds a hearing aid that she thinks belongs to Mrs. Wallabanger next door. Attempts to return the hearing aid don’t go well, however, as Mrs. Wallabanger believes that Nikki is saying “hairy legs”. For social studies, Nikki uses a camera to film her social studies project on recycling to make it appear as if the hearing aid is a fancy cell phone earpiece like the one that MacKenzie owns. Unfortunately, Nikki is allergic to spray paint which she uses to coat the earpiece, leading to a rash. Nikki then returns the hearing aid to Mrs. Wallabanger anonymously. She later sees Mrs. Wallabanger wearing the hearing aid and smiling.
Nikki’s rash does not go away. She mixes up a batch of fake vomit to use to encourage her mom to let her stay home from school. Her family...
