Part 1, Chapter 20 Summary
By dint of the grass nearby, Quixote and Sancho determine that there must be a source of water nearby as well. They continue through the meadow until they are cheered by the sound of what must be a great amount of water, but their good humor hurries away when they also hear a succession of paced thuds and metallic sounds. This strikes fear into both of them, along with the fact that they have no idea where they are in the darkness. Quixote resolves to bravely see in this new adventure, while Sancho cowers and asks why he cannot wait until sunup to see what is causing the racket. Seeing that his master will not be swayed, even though dawn is but three hours away, he helps him prepare for the next battle and readies Rozinante. Unbeknownst to Quixote, however, Sancho...
