Dombey's House
Dombey’s house is grand, stately, and situated in a prominent neighborhood in London. Inside, however is cold, dark, and most of the rooms are shut up after Dombey’s first wife dies. After he marries Edith, she spends lavishly in order to renovate the house inside and out, though it is never a comfortable or safe place for Florence. In the end, Dombey loses his house in his bankruptcy and all the things inside, though the house itself stands strong and intact.
