Summary

Sopham became a student at a specific training center for the Khmer Rouge soldiers. He assumed the name Rithy and invented a new backstory for himself that was more in line with Khmer Rouge proletarian ideals. He and the other boys at the training camp were taught military drills each day. Prasith occasionally visited Sopham. Prasith, suspected of being a traitor, was eventually arrested and tortured to death. Kosal was also arrested and killed. A group of prisoners arrived at the training center, and Sopham and the other boys were trained in how to torture the prisoners.
