pages 267-342 Summary
Marge wakes up and immediately goes for the heroin. Her doses are much too strong and they cause her to vomit and pass out. When she wakes up she speaks with Hicks and Dieter. Dieter tries to explain how things used to be before he succumbed to the American Dream.
There is a warning signal although no one is sure what it means. Dieter says they should all try again and that Marge and Hicks are welcome to stay. It is not long before a shot rings out. There are no hunters in the area and it is suspected that Hicks and Marge were followed. Hicks says that it is not possible. Marge thinks June sold them out as no one else knows where they were going. Hicks refuses to believe it.
