Summary

Chapter Twenty-seven

Chet and Bernie go to see Nixon Panero who owns an auto body shop and is one of their best sources of information. After they discuss the possibility of Panero finding him another old Porsche, Bernie asks where on the street a real estate developer might be able to borrow several hundred thousand dollars. Panero says he only knows of a few guys who could handle that kind of money and gives Bernie the names, including an old man named Albie Rose who Bernie has heard of. When Bernie asks if Panero knows of any Russians lending money on the street, Nixon says he doesn’t know any and doesn’t want to.
