Summary

The opening of the graphic novel is titled “Dog Man: Behind the Profundity.” George and Harold greet the reader and announce that they are now mature fifth graders. George says enlightenment is not an option, “but duty,” making Harold laugh about the word “butt doodie.” George joins in the laughter, then says they have read Call of the Wild, which inspired a new Dog Man novel.

The next page is titled “George and Harold Present: A George and Harold Production of George and Harold's Recap of our Story Thus Far.” The next five pages show how Dog Man was created and briefly introduces several characters, including Petey, Sarah Hatoff, and the Chief.
